Robot Wishes

School-Age

FromRobotics for Young Children,  Ann Gadzikowski

What to have No additional materials are needed for this activity.

What to do Invite children to make robot wishes. This activity can help children make meaningful connections between what they are learning about robots and how their ideas and inventions might help change the world in the future. A robot wish is the seed of an idea that might someday turn into an invention. Start a sentence that begins “I wish I had a robot that could . . .” and invite the children to finish the sentence. Write down children’s ideas on a poster or in a book.

Why Children will examine their wishes for robots in the future, integrating their worldview into insights for how machines can help in the future.
