What to have No additional materials are needed for this activity.
What to do Stand in a circle with the children. Perform a simple action, such as jumping one time or bending and straightening the knees. The child to your right or left performs the same action, and so on all the way around the circle. The hope is that the action looks just the same when it gets back to you. Start again with a new action or, if the children are ready to handle the responsibility, let them take turns beginning the process.
Why To observe and copy a movement. To coordinate movements with one's body and to promote self-regulation. To encourage cooperation and patience.
